Kate West is mother to 3, plant whisperer, song carrier, ceremonialist, and birth + postpartum caregiver. She believes when a mother's life is rooted in the sacred, her body and life become a life-giving garden.
Kate is a Holistic Health Counselor, certified in 2006 by the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. In 2012, she trained with DONA as a birth doula, and in Spring 2020 she completed the CSWS Ayurvedic Postpartum Caregiver certification. Along with birth and postpartum work, she co-facilitates women’s Song Carriers circles in Austin, TX and is a devoted steward of the Mother. Kate is also a minister and facilitator of rites + ceremony and has studied Hakomi (somatic psychotherapy) and is certified in Inner Coach mastery work.
She and her biz partner Priya Walton run a holistic postpartum care and training operation called Nest+Bowl out of Austin, TX. In addition to in home and virtual care, they offer in person Rooted Mothers Circles and bi-annual mama-friendly retreats in the rolling Texas hill country.
Kate offers new families:
- 1:1 nutritional counseling for pregnancy and postpartum
- soul coaching for mamas who need to reignited their heart sparks
- facilitation of group and individual ceremonies (blessingways, weddings, divorces, loss, death of the maiden, mother circles, etc.)
- group workshops around song, ritual, home and healing
